Call to Order: Council President Kevin McIntyre at 7:00 p.m.
Visitor Comments:
Patty Phillips requested permission to hang a street banner to celebrate
Town & Country’s 35th anniversary and Herky’s 75th
birthday. Council gave okay and will pass request on to Paul Tutmahur for final
approval.
Kent Wilcox updated council on the Main Street sidewalks and curbs around
Wilcox Brothers on Main Street. PennDOT has requested that Kent put additional
detail into the blueprints regarding curb elevations and other information.
This is more than they said they would need when consulted last summer. He gave
council a package on requirements. Kent asked council to help pay for the
additional costs.
A motion was made by Dave Slater and seconded Bob Snyder to
pay up to $800.00 toward updating the handicap curb drawings if needed. The
motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes from last meeting were approved as is.

you from John Lyon for use of boro building for tax aid to elderly
Streets, Roads
& Bridges: (Kevin Nicklas, Neal
Hoisington)
« Discussion was held on street repair projects for summer
2011. It was suggested that council get some quotes on different projects and
then prioritize them. Suggestions were: Blacktop the Main Street side of Younie
Street, Shoulder repair Pleasant Street, Tar and chip other Borough roads. Neal
Hoisington and Kevin Nicklas, representing the Streets and Roads committee,
will get the quotes.
A motion was made by Dave Slater and seconded by Neal
Hoisington to adopt Resoultion #04-04-11, for County Aid. The motion carried.
Parks,
Playground, & Sidewalks: (Kathy
Buerkle, Jerry Bloomgren. Bob Snyder)
« Jones Carroll will start picking up garbage at the park
starting the weekend before Memorial day.
« Jerry Bloomgren will look into getting the sidewalk drain
at the Sugar Grove Free Library repaired.
« The summer maintenance bids were reviewed by council and
they choose to go with the lowest bidder.
A
motion was made by Bob Snyder and seconded Dave Slater to use Pillar’s Lawn
Care for the 2011 summer maintenance season. The motion carried.

Old Business:
« Spring clean up day is this Saturday morning, May 7th.
« Discussion was held on the pros and cons of changing the
Sugar Grove Borough insurance broker.
A motion was made by Dave Slater and seconded by Bob Snyder
to change the Sugar Grove Borough’s insurance broker to Garrison-Simonsen Inc.
The motion carried.

New Business:
« John Schuyler is inquired into the possibility of
purchasing the Sugar Grove Borough garage and parking area located off of
Abbott Street. Some issues that would need to be researched are: what rules
apply to selling the property, is the parking area part of the off road spots
needed for the Bucket, a new garage would need to be built.
« The secretary will call Senator M.J. White to inquire for
an update on bid limits for Borough projects.
« Kent Wilcox informed council that Penelec is offering a
grant for new fixtures.
« The COG meeting will be held at the Sugar Grove Borough
building on Wednesday night, May 4th.
