Minutes:  February 7th, 2011 Approved

Citizens Present:  Jenny Nicklas, Linda Strand, Rick Mader, Kathy Reitinger, Luann Lassinger, Dan Glotz, Jim Widrig, Colin Kyler, Candy Reider

        

Call to Order: Council President Kevin McIntyre at 7:00 p.m.

Visitor Comments:

   Kathy Reitinger stated that she needed 2 representatives for the Main Street Advisory Board. The board meets 4 times a year and there are several important items to discuss at the next meeting. Dave Slater said he would attend the meeting. She still needs a second representative and the person just needs to be a Sugar Grove Borough resident.

   Dan Glotz from Planning and Zoning gave the council a presentation on the Zoning Ordinance (history and processes) with a focus on the Village District zoning and how it would work in the Borough. Dan will get a copy of the “Wilds” design structures and a large zoning map for the Borough.

Approval of Minutes: Minutes from last meeting were approved as is.

Communications:

 

Streets, Roads & Bridges: (Kevin Nicklas, Neal Hoisington)

­         Several street lights are blinking. The secretary will call them in for repair.

­         Council members should keep track of the snow pile in the parking lot and call if it needs to get removed.


Parks, Playground, & Sidewalks: (Kathy Buerkle, Jerry Bloomgren. Bob Snyder)

­         Secretary gave an update on the park grant status. Request for final payment is still in process. Our DCNR representative is no longer there and has not been replaced yet.

­         Waiting for better weather to take down street Christmas lights.

Sugar Grove VFD:  (Kathy Buerkle, Dave Slater)  

­         The new Fire Chief is Justin Darr and he will get the Sugar Grove Borough a list of volunteers and activities for the year.
