Call to Order: Council President Kevin McIntyre at 7:00 p.m.
Visitor Comments:
Cpl Richard Alekson – 814-728-3600 – from the State Police attended the
Sugar Grove Borough meeting to answer any questions council members or visitors
might have. Council raised some issues about a resident on Pleasant Street. /
Talked about what was involved with posting roads for snowmobilers. Alekson
noted that if the state police see them on the roads they are required to site
them. / Amish buggies were discussed. It was noted that they could be ticketed
for running a stop sign or breaking other road rules but no answer for when
they would be required to get registrations, plates or insurance.
Kathy Reitinger is looking for board advisors for the Main Street
Program. Dave Slater volunteered for the board advisor’s position. If needed,
the second position could be filled by different people attending one of the 4 yearly
meetings.
Judy Mader asked the council if they had more thoughts on the zoning
issues for the business residential areas. There followed a lively discussion
on the support for and support against changing the zoning and why. Kevin
McIntyre requested a Roll Call on the following motion:
A motion was made by Dave Slater and seconded by Bob Snyder
to request that the Warren County Zoning office change the zoning at 210 Main
Street from Business Transitional to Residential.

The motion failed.
A motion was made by Kevin Nicklas and seconded by Dave
Slater to request of the Warren County Zoning office that all Business
Transitional properties in the Sugar Grove Borough remain at the 3000 square
foot limit as stated in the current zoning ordinance adopted August 13, 2008
for Warren, Pennsylvania. The motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes from last meeting were approved as is.

A motion was made by Kevin Nicklas and seconded by Dave
Slater to pay the bills. The motion carried.
Mayor’s Report:
The mayor remarked on how
nice the Christmas Walk was.
The school superintendent
stated that the school district will pay for the flashing speed lights for the
Sugar Grove Elementary School on School Street.
The mayor will work with
Gaylan Critzer Excavating on the issues with parked vehicles and plowing on
Harmon Street.
Secretary’s Report:
Requested that council
members sign their full name and turn in receipt when signing for items at
Wilcox Brothers.
Will be changing the account
numbers in Quickbooks to match the DCED account numbers.
There will be 2 council
member openings for the next terms starting in 2012.

Would like to get the curbs
on Main Street sprayed yellow this spring.

the park grant status. Request for final payment should be turned in by the end
of January.
