Call to Order: Council President Kevin McIntyre at 7:00 p.m.

Visitor Comments:

   Kent Wilcox showed the council members drawings of the sidewalks for Main Street in front of Wilcox Brothers. He is waiting for approval of the blueprint. Sugar Grove Borough has committed to pay for the curb and handicap part of the new sidewalks. Kent will inform council when he gets the permits and bids.

Approval of Minutes: Minutes from last meeting were approved as is.

A motion was made by Dave Slater and seconded by Neal Hoisington to pay the bills. The motion carried.

             

  

Mayor’s Report:

«       The ISO meeting was cancelled due to lack of sign ups.

«       On Saturday, April 2nd, there will be VFD recruitment training from 9:00 am thru 2:00 pm.

 

Secretary’s Report:

«       Update on insurance

Communications:

«       Planning and Zoning – CDBG Funds for Jamestown Street

«       WC Solid Waste Authority

«       Penndot – Construction Project (council chose the non-imbursement option for extra handicap curbs)

«       Greenways Block Grant

«       2010 Census

«       Bike/Hike path (council chose not to pursue at this time)

Streets, Roads & Bridges: (Kevin Nicklas, Neal Hoisington)

«       There was water flooding on Stillwater Road. Critzer opened up the sluice to get the water running.

«       Kevin McIntyre will turn off the Christmas lights.

«       Need to get street signs ordered. (will ask Kathy Reitinger about grant money).

«       The Sugar Grove Borough should clean up the property where snow was dumped from boro snow removal.


Parks, Playground, & Sidewalks
: (Kathy Buerkle, Jerry Bloomgren. Bob Snyder)

«       Repairs were made to the sidewalk plow. It needs new tire chains and the lights repaired.

«       Advertise for summer maintenance bids.

Sugar Grove VFD:  (Kathy Buerkle, Dave Slater)  

 

Old Business:

«       Dave Slater gave a presentation on reasons to change some of the Sugar Grove Borough zoning to “Village District” which was followed with a pro/con discussion. Council will wait for Warren County Zoning to finish updating their zoning changes before considering any changes for the Borough.

 

Ordinances:  (Neal Hoisington, Dave Slater)

 

A motion was made by Bob Snyder and seconded by Kathy Buerkle to adopt Ordinance #03-07-11 (Storm Water Management Ordinance). 6 yes votes – 1 no vote (Slater). The motion carried.

 


New Business
:

«       Spring Clean Up day is scheduled for May 7th, 9:00 to 1:00, using same rules as last year.

«       Will schedule 5 months of trash pick up for the park.

 

The Sugar Grove Borough Council meeting adjourned at 9:26 pm.
