Call to Order: Vice President Kathy Buerkle at 7:00 p.m.
Visitor Comments: The SGVFD will be holding a
Halloween event on October 30th and 31st at the Fire
Department. The event committee has been requesting donations from various
organizations. The Sugar Grove Borough agreed to give a $200 donation and requested
a copy of the itemized list of expenses for the event.
A motion was made by Kevin Nicklas and
seconded by Dave Slater to donate $200.00 to the SGVFD Halloween event made out
the CV Community Center. The motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes from last meeting were approved as is.

A motion was made by Dave Slater and seconded by Neal
Hoisington to pay the bills. The motion carried.
Mayor’s Report:
Will send a letter to Gerald
Fortman concerning the John Fortman property on 146 Catlin Hill Road asking him
to do some maintenance on the property or to contact the mayor to discuss the
situation. At some point the council may need to consider turning the property
over to the blighted property committee.

Streets, Roads
& Bridges: (Kevin Nicklas, Neal
Hoisington)
Kevin Nicklas asked about
road maintenance on the state owned roads that go through Sugar Grove Borough
to be done by Penndot. He was told they would do something in July. Kevin
Nicklas will call Bill Kalensy at Penndot and ask what is going on with the
roads.
The paper work for County Aid
was reviewed.
A motion was made by Kevin Nicklas and
seconded by Neal Hoisington to adopt the resolution for County Aid. The motion
carried.
Kevin Nicklas noted that the
Sugar Grove Borough needs to purchase 2 Stop signs and 2 posts.
Parks, Playground, & Sidewalks: (Kathy
Buerkle, Ryan Hoffman, Jerry Bloomgren)
According to Chris Brown, the
park architect, the design plans are almost complete. He is working with David
Bauer and the target to send in the plans to DCNR is 10/31/09.
Dutch will contact Gary
Koehler to see about putting electric in the park. It will not be part of the
park grant.

Kevin Nicklas, Jerry Bloomgren)
The flag pole still needs a
new rope and to be painted. Dave Slater and Kevin Nicklas will get this done.
Sugar Grove
VFD:

The joint meeting with the
Sugar Grove Township requested at the last meeting was cancelled due to a lack of information. The council
will relook at this meeting at the next council meeting.

New Business:
Halloween hours have been set
for 6:00 pm thru 8:00 pm on October 31st at houses with porch lights
on.
A motion was made by Jerry Bloomgren and
seconded by Dave Slater to have Halloween Trick or Treating on October 31st
from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The motion carried.
A motion
for adjournment was made by Dave Slater seconded by Neal Hoisington. The motion
carried and the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
