Sugar Grove Borough Council

Minutes: Special Meeting 6-30-10

Council Members Present:

Mayor “Dutch” Strand, Kevin McIntyre, Kathy Buerkle, Neal Hoisington, Jerry Bloomgren, Bob Snyder, Dave Slater

Council Members Absent: Kevin Nicklas

Citizens Present: Tom Eaton, Amy Eaton

Call to Order: Council Member Kevin McIntyre at 7:00 p.m.

Visitor Comments: None

Streets, Roads & Bridges: (Kevin Nicklas, Neal Hoisington)

Neal Hoisington waiting on a call from Huber concerning the gravel to be applied to the Sugar Grove Borough roads.

The Family Medicine of Warren called to ask about the Sugar Grove Borough repairing the alley they use to get to parking behind their building. Council felt that the Sugar Grove Borough only has a right of way for access to the park. Kevin McIntyre will check on the right of way.

Parks, Playground, & Sidewalks: (Kathy Buerkle, Jerry Bloomgren)

The sign for the Sugar Grove Community Park was discussed.

The ground breaking ceremony was discussed. The secretary will try to organize.

After discussion on reference checks the bid for the Sugar Grove Community Park was awarded to the low bidder.

A motion was made by Bob Snyder and seconded by Dave Slater to award the Sugar Grove Community Park bid to Innovative Construction & Mechanical LLC. The motion carried.

Old Business:

Dave Slater noted that the new lights for the flag pole by the Sugar Grove Borough building have been installed.

A motion for adjournment was made by Dave Slater and seconded by Kathy Buerkle. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
