The Fall Road Inspection was held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 beginning
at 7:00 a.m. at the Sugar Grove Township building with Chairman Randy Brown,
Supervisor Carl Black, Supervisor George Sanders, Road Crew Foreman Brian
Larson, and secretary Kathie Liffner present. Numerous roads were inspected
with problem areas being noted.
Rowley Road: Cross Pipe needs something done because
diversion ditch, when lots of rain, jumps the road and washes it out. Also, discussion on additional pipe, 24”, and to get with Farmington Township about
a 50/50 split for material and labor
Wilson Road (between township line and Rounds Hill):
Ditching between Greg Klomp’s and Suppa’s, and
contact property owner as to wear he would like the ditch dirt.
Rounds Hill Road: Grade, ditch, and cut berms
Jones Hill Road: Grade and ditch above Kenworthy’s.
Eccles Road: Grade, ditch, & cut berms.
Wilson Road (from Rounds Hill towards Borough): Need to put 2 loads of gravel from
intersection of Eccles towards borough.
Need to clean out pipe at the intersection of Eccles. The cross pipe that was washed out during
storm was looked at. The “Y” at Jones Hill and Eccles Road needs cleaned out so water can get to the
ditch.
Stillwater Road: There was a discussion on fencing and interfering
with cross pipes and being able to clean them out and cleaning ditches. Need to ditch and berm (from Cross Road to
township line) Fix the driveway pipe
and fix tail ditches.
Cross Road: We need a pipe extension at the creek and
fill it in.
North Road: Discussion on pipe being installed at the
intersection of North & Cross Roads to divert the water down North Road
towards the creek.
Teal Hill Road: Need to fix the ditch and clean it out at
Davis’.
Dump Road: There is a cross pipe that needs to be
cleaned out as water is coming out into the roadway. Grade, ditch and get crown back
Stoney Run Road: Needs gravel from Drake Road down.
Drake Road: The gas line right-of-way needs the ditch
repaired as it is running down the driveway and into the road.
Penny Bank Road: Ditching.
Stilson Hill Road: Ditch.
Murry Hill Road: Ditch the hill.
Sheldon Road: Ditch and clean out tail ditch.
Deer Run Road (old Patchen Hollow):
The cross pipes need cleaned.
Need to replace cross pipe with a 24” between Cristafora’s and
Luvison’s.
Need to ditch between Luvison’s and cross pipe and bring the road surface up. The cross pipe by Shell’s needs fixed.
Fiddler Hill Road: Needs ditched and cross pipe.
The secretary was asked to check on where we had purchased steel pipe in
the past and get some costs of pipe.
The biggest thing with road inspection this time is to get berms cut and
clean up dirt and see where we can dump the ditch dirt.
