Supervisor’s Meeting – Sugar Grove Township Approved Minutes

 

April 21, 2009                         Regular Session                                             8:00 p.m.

 

Supervisor Brown called the April 21, 2009 regular session of the Sugar Grove Township Board of Supervisors to order at 8:00 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Township Maintenance Building, Creek Rd., Sugar Grove, PA. Brown led all those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.       

           

            Supervisors Present: Chairman Randy Brown, Supervisor Carl Black, Supervisor George Sanders

 

            Road Crew present:              Brian Larson, Justin Darr

                       

Absent:             

 

            Visitors Present:  None

 

A motion was made by Carl Black to accept the April 7, 2009 meeting minutes, seconded by Randy Brown.    The motion carried. 

 

Public Comment Period:

            None

Road Report:

            The road crew has been grading, raking, cold patching as weather permits.  They will be doing ditching soon.  Brian gave the supervisors information on 13 & 15 wheel rollers.  Discussion followed.  George Sanders made a motion to advertise for purchase of a 13-wheel pull type pneumatic roller with bids to be opened at the May 5, 2009 meeting, seconded by Carl Black  The motion carried.  There was a discussion on sealing the black top roads. 

Business:

            There has been a complaint about the burned out trailer on Matthews Run Road.  Randy Brown will contact the owners to see what progress has been made and to get a time frame on when it will be cleaned up.  A copy of the bid awarded to Russell Standard was signed by the supervisors.  DEP has been keeping track of the Chandlers Valley Trailer Court clean up.  The MDIA addendum to agreement for an increase in fees was reviewed.  Carl Black made a motion to accept the addendum, seconded by George Sanders.  The motion carried.

            Communications were reviewed.

A motion was made by Randy Brown to pay the current bills for a total of $9,584.21, seconded by George Sanders.    The motion carried.

 

Executive Session:  An executive session was called at 9:10 p.m. for employee reviews for Brian Larson and Justin Darr.  The executive session ended at 10:09 p.m.  Carl Black made a motion to give Brian Larson and Justin Darr a $.50 per hour raise, seconded by Randy Brown.  The motion carried.

 

Supervisors Comment:

            Road Inspection was discussed and it was decided to have it on Saturday, May 16 at 7:00 a.m.  There was a discussion on road oil.  Also grader tires were discussed and Brian Larson is suppose to check on state bid for prices.

           

           

            A motion was made by Carl Black to adjourn the meeting, seconded by George Sanders.     The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 10:39 p.m.
