May 19, 2009 Regular Session 8:00 p.m.
Supervisor Black called the May 19, 2009 regular session of the Sugar Grove Township Board of Supervisors to order at 8:10 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Township Maintenance Building, Creek Rd., Sugar Grove, PA. Black led all those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Supervisors Present: Supervisor Carl Black, Supervisor George Sanders
Road Crew present: Brian Larson
Absent: Chairman Randy Brown
Visitors Present: Linda Cross, Doug Haines,
A motion was made by Carl Black to accept the May 5, 2009 meeting minutes, seconded by George Sanders. The motion carried.
Public Comment Period:
Linda Cross stated that
she read in the paper that we were going to help SGVFD financially. George Sanders explained that we are trying
to help them get bills and finances in order, so that they can apply for
grants, etc. Discussion followed.
Road Report:
The new roller arrived. The road crew has been patching, grading, and getting new tires for the grader. The grader broke down. The cellinoud burned up and the starter was going bad also. Brian got a new complete starter from Five Star. We are waiting to hear from the Conservation District for the project on Stoney Run Road. The person that Brian needs to talk to at Penndot about millings is on vacation until Thursday. Brian will try to get ahold of him on Thursday to see about millings for Deer Run Road.
Business:
There is a resident on Samuelson Road that would like to raise pheasants and needs a letter from the township stating that he will not be violating any zoning or local rules. The secretary will send him a letter stating as such. There were subdivision maps for Myers and Chases that were approved by the supervisors.

A motion was made by Carl
Black to pay the current bills for a
total of $26,609.43, seconded by George Sanders. The motion carried.
Supervisors Comment:
Carl Black made a motion to nominate George Sanders to sit on the SGVFD Trustee’s Board, seconded by George Sanders. The motion carried. George Sanders asked about the new pump that went bad for SuGASA and what it would cost to fix. The secretary told them what she had learned from Warren Electric. Road Oil was discussed. George Sanders asked what thickness we may need to have the oil stick. Discussion followed. There was also a discussion on the corner of Rounds Hill and Wilson roads.
A motion was made by Carl Black to adjourn the meeting, seconded by George Sanders. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
